Stefany Di Manno : How did you come up with the idea for Di Manno Designs?

I always wanted my own company but didn't know what I wanted to do.  One day I was helping my best friend move out of her NYC apartment and we were speaking about having your own company.  She runs a promotional company, and I was telling her about my own ideas. Over a bottle of wine she told me to think over my daily routine and see if there is anything that I wanted or needed.  I followed her advice. Then one day while I was getting acupuncture treatment, I was thinking of my daily routine and I thought about wearing my hair back and how disgusted I was of using rubber bands! It was then that the concept for Di Manno Designs was born. Everything was brand new to me.  I've been in a few different industries but never had my own company and didn't know much about hair accessories! I just took it step by step, did research on finding a manufacturer, and have been blessed with great friends around me who have given me a lot of contacts.  Day by day, I researched all aspects of making, packaging, and marketing my ponytail holders.
