Great Twitter Brand Equals Great Followers | Five Steps

Five quick steps to attracting GREAT followers!
1. Is your picture or image the best it can be?
Picture OR Image
We are first identified through our picture OR image. Is yours the best it can be? Take a look at the followers of someone you admire? Which photo's OR images attract your interest? It's helpful to make a list, as you will likely find quite a few factors. e.g. great photo - define what is great about the majority of photos. There will likely be a connecting factor; great logo - define what is great about the logo. Is it the color, the shape, the font, what it says...; something about it grabs my curiosity - define what characteristics grab your curiosity. This could be anything. Whatever it is, you'll learn a bit about yourself.
2. Does your name or handle immediately communicate who you are?

The second identification is our name OR as it's referred to - handle. We all choose our handles for different reasons. While you're looking at the images, take a look at their handles. Does their handle make sense to you? Does it communicate a message that attracts you? Some tweeples have several handles. You may want to do your own test with a few different handles and see which one attracts the most. (Using the same image will isolate your handle as the test variable.)
Note on using your name as a handle: - If it's your name, is that what you're pitching - are you your own product? Do you have really great name recognition? If an individual doesn't know you by name, they may be attracted to your image Or they may feel they need to do further investigation (if they have the time.) Or they may pass.
3. Have a look at your bio. Is it the best it can be?
Mini Bio
The mini bio at the top right hand of the page is the quickest and easiest way to 'size-up' a tweeple's brand. Is your bio informative? Does it communicate the most important aspects of your Twitter Brand - meaning does it give them an opportunity to quickly know what to expect in your tweets? Take a look at some bios and ask yourself: Do they attract me? Are they consistent with their tweets?
Note on Mini Bio: If you identify yourself one way in your bio and tweet from a totally different aspect of you, you'll likely lose followers. Consistency is key.
4. Why will your follower be interested in what you say?

It behooves us to think about who will be interested in our tweets. What type of person will find my tweets valuable Or interesting? Am I mostly twittering about my are of expertise in business? Do I have a personal life that others identify with? Am I a great connector? Is there an organization I'm representing? Defining your audience will give you a guide to follow. And, it will likely attract an audience that will connect you with 'valuable followers.'
5. Are your tweets valuable to your followers?

Why do I want to read this tweeples's tweets? If an individual is following hundreds OR thousands of tweeples, how many tweet's do you think they actually read? After attracting them to follow you, the next step is to entice them to read your tweets AND continue following you. Identifying your main focus will help you define how you will help your followers. In fact, you could tell your followers or potential followers what to expect in your mini bio. E.g. I'll share miscellaneous facts as they relate to - 'x' topic - All with the intention to give you a laugh! OR Social Media is my expertise, I'll share the inside scoop with you.
By evaluating these key points, you're on your way to not only attracting followers, but also clarifying what Twitter is for you?
